About the Artist

San Francisco based artist, Karen Slovak, paints nature’s patterns, enchanted city scenes, and mystical figures that evoke a sense of interconnection and belonging. Working primarily in oil and acrylic, she likes the meditative aspect of painting and the unfolding of images that emerge in the process. Karen exhibits her work at local open studios, has created chalk murals at the North Beach Festival, and has designed home textile products. She has a bachelor of fine arts degree in painting and is a credentialed art teacher.
